CURVY GRIDLOCK, INCHIE 'DARK', and TWINCHIE, 'STARS'

Weekly Challenge #156
Show me your Curves,........ in a Gridlock sorta way!!

I had to laugh when I saw what our challenge was that Laura gave us. Last week I made a comment how grid patterns are my most difficult to do! Well, look what she gave us....! Too funny!!( I think it was Laura's way of giving me my 'Time Out', since I messed up on the Linky Machine, two weeks in a row.  Yeeeeeeksss!!!) I really was sorry!!! I'm just kidding!!! I know she didn't do this because of me. Anyways, I rather had a good time doing this grid because Laura did say to use curvy lines. Which helped me be a little more creative. *wink Thanks Laura!!! :0)
Now I just briefly added on last weeks challenge a new tile and mentioned that I would be adding a gray ribbon on my tiles from now on. (The reason being I had to ask my niece if it was ok to do this). My niece was diagnosed with Brain Cancer back in December. It has been a real eye opener to how to deal with cancer, only because I have never had someone so close to me be diagnosed with any kind of cancer. I have been pondering how to bring this into my blog without creating a whole lot of,..........well, I guess you might say, drama. But I feel like I need to help bring awareness to brain cancer, to help her. It will be the last time I will be writing about it on my challenge posts. So you will see gray ribbons included, somewhere, in my tiles from now on. I will have a whole separate page for Brain Cancer Awareness under my heading The Ripple Effect.(I am still putting that together.) I will be adding to it frequently. Please take time to read and inform yourself and hopefully others, of this horrible illness.
I just have to say, "I pray for all and any of you and your families that have ever had to go through anything like this. It's painful and hard to grasp!! So my heartfelt empathy go out to you!!! God Bless you with Peace and Understanding and yet Strength and Love to carry you on!!! XO'S"
( I also didn't want to turn the weekly challenge into a mourning and sad event every week! I have to say this week is one of the first weeks that my mind and body are feeling balanced and peaceful. I never really give much detail about my personal life but this has been hard to pretend it's not there, even with tangling and blogging. So bare with me for unloading.) Hugs!

I missed last week, but I'm hoping to catch up! Anyway, our American flag is what came to mind. And I have to say, I cheated a little. I quilled a bunch of different patriotic mini cards, back in 2002. (the year was on the back) And I remembered I still had some , so I thought I would apply it to this weeks challenge! I just love minis.

It's always fun doing Twinchies! Anybody want to join in on the fun??
Have an awesome week!!!

'WHITE SPACE' and INCHIE 'DUAL'

Weekly Challenge #155
'A Little White Space'
(Updated)
Here's is my updated version of 'a little white space'! From here forward you will be seeing a grey ribbon in all of my tiles.
The grey ribbon represents Brain Cancer Awareness!!! ( I will be telling you about that soon).

'just the beginning'

White says, "Give me a little space, would ya'?
For some reason my mind and body have been screaming for 'balance'!!! Since last week I have been kinda feeling a little down and out! Well this week is kinda the same............but, have no fear, I'm doing something about it!!!! Today I went to the gym,....... and........ then I tangled!!
I actually don't have a hard time leaving white space in my Zentangles or Zias, so I quite enjoyed this challenge! And it did help me to get into the Zen!! Thank You, Laura!!!!  The string I used 'Yin/Yang' made it even easier. Each step I thought about just leaving it , and then I did a little more. I just wasn't sure how much white space I wanted to leave!! Cause, I kinda liked them all. (Can you see my struggle for balance?)
I liked the way this was at this point.

This one I just put a little shading to bring out the complete edge of Yang.

Tangles used: Birds on a Wire, C-Scape, Showgirl, Mooka, Zinger, Tipple and Stippling
Anyway, here's the final outcome!
I had to add some organic in the corners. (Now that is a challenge for me!! No organic, just grid tangling!!!!! YEEEeeks, that would be a tough Tangle for me to do!!!!)
Anyway, here's the final outcome!
Make sure you take a look at all the other entries at Diva's Blog, and see how cute her little diva family is!!!! :0)

'Dual'

This was originally my first one, but then I remembered a Zia I made of the sun and moon.  (I guess it's all about balance right now for me)

Moon and Sun, and day and night, and light and dark,  is my definition of Dual!! (I have to say, I was thinking of a gun fight "DU'e'L when I first saw the word. Then, I realized it was spelled with an 'e'!! See, these Inchies really test your knowledge!!!! :0) ...)
Anyway, this one was kinda tough to think of!
Please, remember to take a peek at all the other Inchies at the Every Inchie Monday blog!

VALEN'TANGLE', INCHIE 'CHOCOLATE' and TWINCHIE 'HEART'

Weekly Challenge #154
VELEN'TANGLE'

Ok, I have a confession, I am using a Zia that I created last week! :0) I will do one for the challenge too, but I really liked this one and wanted to use it!

Tangles used: Mooka, Jailed Johnny and hugz IN kizzez (My tangle creation, just click on title and it will show you deconstruction of hugz IN kizzez)!

Here is my official Diva's challenge entry!!
I hate to say, but my heart has felt heavy for the last week and I can't seem to shake it! :0( So  I think that is why I can't get enough of hearts right now!!! Subliminally, I think I'm trying to get myself out of this funk!!! Crazy!!!

Hopes for a Loving Valentine's Day for everyone!!
(A 'True' expression of love is to do something for someone and make them smile.)
Spread some SMILES :0) this week!!!

'CHOCOLATE'

Well, three weeks ago the Inchie word was 'Brown', and I used chocolate to define that word. So today the word is 'Chocolate' and I'm using something 'Brown' to define it!!! (Why can't I just keep things simple,........? I ask myself that all the time... it's just the way my brain works!) Anyway, the first thing I thought of was 'Chocolate Lab'!! One of these days, I would love to own one of these!! It wouldn't  fix that craving of chocolate like a chocolate Kiss, but a chocolate lab could give chocolate hugs!!! Both sound really good right now!!!
I sure hope you get some kind of 'Chocolate' for Valentine's Day!!
And if not,........
A
GREAT
BIG
HUG,
IS ALWAYS
THE
BEST!!!
(it's the gift that is returnable, with smiles!!)

Weekly Challenge
"HEART'

Ok, for the Twinchie Challenge, the word is 'Heart'. I have been drawing so many lately and,... for reasons I can't shake this heavy heart of mine. So, I decided to put a "CABOSH" to that!!! When I was a little girl my dad use to tell a story of The Warm Fuzzies and The Cold Pricklies. Well, he actually had it typed on a paper too. Over the years I have asked him for a copy of the story, but he could not find it. So I decided to look it up on line. Low and behold,............the Internet is marvelous, I found it!!! The Original Warm Fuzzy Story, by Claude Steiner, is sold on paper back! You can believe I bought one!! Anyway, check out the story and let me know what you think!! I just love it and I think it's a great story to tell children and anyone, for that matter, about THE POWER OF LOVE!!!
This is my version of a Warm Fuzzy, squashing out a Cold Prickly!!!
Check out all of the beautiful hearts over at the Twinchie Challenge Blog!!

hugz IN kizzez

hugz IN kizzez

Here is my very first tangle of my own. I always sign letters and cards with an XO. So with Valentine's on the way, I figured it would be a good time to share this tangle! There are many ways to show different variations of it too, but I have just included one finished tangle. I hope to add a Zia that suites Valentine's Day!
Here is the deconstruction.

I'm sorry for any confusion, but I found my original deconstruction and the title of it is hugz IN kizzez!

This was just a fun Zentangle. As you can see I keep on using Aquafleur! I can't seem to get it out of my system!!
For this one I used Tangle Patterns String 016 and Tangles hugz IN kizzez, Angels Fish, and Bubbles

Ps. If you have a moment, you might want to check out this fun little ditty about XO's. It's kinda cute! How XO came to be Kisses and Hugs and then this one too, Urban dictionary: XO. Both are probably senseless info that might help you out with Trivial Pursuit, someday! hahaha
And now, since first writing this post, I have now come up with some Valentine's influenced Zias!

This tangle contains, hugz IN kizzez, Mooka, and Jailed Johnny!

Without any red!

With a touch of added red!!
This Zia is a Helen Williams, inspired piece! Man,......she is amazing! You must check out her blog and see all the other impeccable Zias and tangles that she creates! She definitely has a style, all her own! But it's fantastic!!! Anyway, her tangle is Heartline and then I added my creation of hugz IN kizzez!
I do hope you try this tangle and let me know what you think!

Go put some Zen,
into this Tangled world!!

JAILED JOHNNY, INCHIE 'CATHEDRAL', and TWINCHIE, 'FEATHERS'

Weekly Challenge #153: UMT v.24
'Jailed Johnny' by Sadelle Wiltshire, CZT

So when I first read the title of this tangle I wasn't sure what it was gonna look like. I like the name, but my head was just in ponder of what it would look like. (Poor Laura, had a migraine so she was not able to use this tangle on her blog to show us an example of it used. Laura, I hope you are feeling better! I am so surprised you could even do a Monday post!.......Your dedication is amazing!)
So back to poor Jailed Johnny. What did he do in the first placed to go to jail? These are things I'm thinking about before I even had seen the breakdown of this tangle. So right away I'm thinkin' I gotta Set Johnny Free!!! And so here is my Jailed Johnny,...........Set Free!!

Please don't forget to go and check out all the other entries! Oh and you must go to Sadelle's blog The Tangled Pumpkin, to see her other tangle Pop-Pop! I really want to give that one a try too! Oh, and keep up with my posts because I am finally going to be posting my own tangle! Hopefully in time for Valentine's Day! It won't be linked to the Diva's challenge so check back in a couple days!
Anywho, have a great week!!

Thank you to all, who visit and leave a token of Kindness!!

'Cathedral'

Back in the year 2005, my husband, both my parents, and I were able to take a trip to Italy. It was an amazing trip!! And yes, there are Cathedrals everywhere!! The one that stood out and what inspired me for this week's challenge, though, was Cattedrale di San Rufino di Assisi! (please click on name of cathedral and take a peak at this extraordinary cathedral)  Man, if I only knew about Zentangle back then!! San Rufino has inspiration inside, outside, everywhere for Zentangle!(It's funny how some things just stand out in our memories, more than others. And I wonder, if I went back there, if it would be just as impressionable as it was then,...?) Anyways, here is my depiction of cathedral.
This is called the Rose Window of Saint Rufino Cathedral (click on image to enlarge)
It was very difficult to get all the fine detail into this Inchie, so it was the best I could do!

Have a blessed and happy week!!
